Personal Childhood Web

This is a picture of my oldest brother.  He is four years older than me.  He was my babysitter from time to time.  He even got away with spanking me when I got out of line.  He was a great role model.  When I decided that I wanted to do Cometology School and it was not in the budget, he paid for me to get started.  There was nothing that I could ask for that he would not for me.  He always gave me a stripture from the bible to let me know that I was just as good as the other kids in my class at school.  Today he is an excellent father of six and I look up to him still after all this time.I could not have asked God for a better family.  When he placed me into my family, it was just "perfect" for me.

This is the lady who got it all started for me.  Without her I would not even be in existance.  This is my grandmother, of whom I love dearly.  Although, she is in heaven know, I love her just as much as if she were still here. My spirit connects with hers and I still talk to her all the time.  I owe so much to her.  She planted the seed of early childhood into me, and I watered the seed and known it has grown into a full plant.  I only wish she was here to see it.  But I know that she is looking down from heaven smiling upon me saying "With God all things are possible".  She has influenced my life abundantly and I am so blessed to have been able to call her mine.  She was definitely a precious jewel.  God allowed us to have her for a period of time, and when her time ran out he called her back home to heaven.  I know that she is singing, "Some glad morning when this life is over ......."

This is a picture of two very special people in my life.  The woman on the far right side is my beautiful mother.  Someone who has loved me unconditionally my entire life.  She has supported me through lifes ups and downs.  She assured me that it will get better.  Her saying is "much prayer, much power; little prayer, little power".  I definitely hold onto to that today.  She has created a legacy that she will always be remembered for.  The grandkids walk through the house saying the phrase all the time and they know that its grandmas phrase.  The male is my older brother or "aka" my best friend.  This is the person that I can talk to about anything and he will give me great advice.  While we were coming up a lot of people thought we were twins, but he is actually two years older than me.  We are a family that values our religion, but loves past the pain.  There is no perfect person in our family so we realize from time to time we might let each other down.  However, it is our family tradition that "we get back up again" everytime.  As a military family, I will also add that we never leave a fallen solider behind.  We stick together and carry them through to the other side.

This was the number one guy in my life for the longest period of time.  He taught me to look into a persons heart to see if they are really who they say they are.  He told me that I deserve to be treated like a princess.  Most importantly, he taught me to wait.  "Good things come to those who wait" is what he used to always remind me.  I knew that he loved me because he showed me everyday, and yes I was and still am a major daddy's girl.  I love my father with every fiber in my being.  I respect, honor and appreciate him.  He taught me about God as a small child, and prepared me that with God life will be so much easier.  As the women that I am today, I now know that he was right in so many ways and I thank God for him everyday.  "I love you, daddy!"

My favorite children's book

The Kissing Hand, by Audrey Penn is my favorite book. I use it on the first day of school. It is about a child being seperated from their mom on the first day of school. The mom puts a kiss in the child's hand and reminds them to hold the kiss near whenever they feel afraid. This book helps so many children adjust just knowing that somehow mom is near by.

My quote

My favorite quote is "Be yourself, everyone else is aready taken." This quote is by Oscar Wilde. I love it because it is important to remind children to be who they are and not like others. Each child is just as good as the next and they need to know that they can achieve anything they put their mind to.
